Matthew Lewis Attends Audi Polo Challenge [May 31st]

Last month Matthew attended the Audi Polo Challenge, a charity match in which Prince William was playing.  The Chester Racecourse (where the game was held) posted a video interview with Matt that you can view below. He even hinted that he may be in some American films, but he will always keep his Northern Roots in Leeds.

Matt also updated his Twitter profile photo to a shot of him meeting Prince William and his girlfriend also posted a photo (I don’t normally comment on personal things, but aren’t they the cutest couple!?)  The photos may be seen in high resolution in the gallery. More photos will be added if/when they surface.

Old Extra Role in ‘Sharpe’s Justice’ Rediscovered

Thanks to a very eagle eyed reader we have identified which of the films in the Sharpe series Matthew appeared in as an extra.  He was a young boy in the film Sharpe’s Justice starring Sean Bean in 1997. A couple screenshots may be seen in the gallery and a description of the movie is as follows:

Napoleon has been exiled to Elba, the English have returned from the wars, and Major Richard Sharpe finds himself in a sort of exile to lead a company of Yorkshire Yeomen. His duties include protecting mill owners from restless workers who are on the verge of strike or outright revolt. Meanwhile, Sharpe’s faithless wife and her lover fall within range of Sharpe’s wrath. Sharpe, with his two of his devoted Chosen Men nearby, must decide whether to continue to protect the mill owners or to take the side of their fiercely downtrodden workers.

The movie can be watched on YouTube in multiple parts (I won’t post the link because it probably isn’t supposed to be on YouTube, just search Sharpe’s Justice)

Thank you very much to Larysa!

Matthew’s Interview in Attitude Magazine

Today we have the full write up of Matthew Lewis’ interview for Attitude Magazine. Read some snippets below and the full article in the press archive. You can also view photos from the shoot, and scans of the issue, in the gallery!

His first post-Potter film release will be Wasteland, a low-budget British movie in which Lewis will again share a screen with Timothy Spall. It’s quite a habit of his – co-starring with acting legends, learning from them all the way. Not that it makes him any more confident in his own ability. He admits he’s ‘fretting the whole time’, thinking, ‘Is this any good? Is this shit?’ adding, ‘I grew up on the Potter set and I didn’t expect to come out of that as this fully rounded actor. I never went to drama school, I’m really on the bottom rung and I have to prove myself and learn as I go along.’

Thanks hellyeamattlewis and herring shoes!

Preview of Matthew’s Attittude Magazine Shoot & Interview

As we posted back in April, Matthew did a photoshoot and interview with Attitude Magazine.  The issue doesn’t come out until tomorrow but Digital Spy has posted a preview including a photo from the shoot which may be seen, in high resolution, in the gallery!

“The great thing as an actor is that I don’t know what my agent is going to call me with next,” he said. “She could be saying, ‘You’re going to go and be a secret agent’, or it could be anything and that’s exciting. But when you’re doing Potter, it’s the same thing, so I was ready to go out and do something different.”

He added: “I’ve grown up on the Potter set and I don’t expect to come out of that as this fully rounded actor. I never went to drama school. No matter how high-profile that was, I’m really on the bottom rung and I have to prove myself and learn as I go along.”

Lewis laughed off claims that he has had plastic and dental surgery, adding: “I had this thing called an aligner, which was f**king painful.”
