Thanks to a very eagle eyed reader we have identified which of the films in the Sharpe series Matthew appeared in as an extra. He was a young boy in the film Sharpe’s Justice starring Sean Bean in 1997. A couple screenshots may be seen in the gallery and a description of the movie is as follows:
Napoleon has been exiled to Elba, the English have returned from the wars, and Major Richard Sharpe finds himself in a sort of exile to lead a company of Yorkshire Yeomen. His duties include protecting mill owners from restless workers who are on the verge of strike or outright revolt. Meanwhile, Sharpe’s faithless wife and her lover fall within range of Sharpe’s wrath. Sharpe, with his two of his devoted Chosen Men nearby, must decide whether to continue to protect the mill owners or to take the side of their fiercely downtrodden workers.
The movie can be watched on YouTube in multiple parts (I won’t post the link because it probably isn’t supposed to be on YouTube, just search Sharpe’s Justice)
Thank you very much to Larysa!

You’re welcome!
I just got such a surprise while I was watching Sharpe and had to back the DVD up and watch it over and over, then, after I decided it HAD to be him, I got another surprise when I realised it wasn’t listed on IMDB or here!
Anyway, I’m really glad it was him!
Larysa.

I did the same thing! I saw Matthew, then had to make sure it was him. It isn’t posted any where. So I Googled it and sure enough it was him!
