Young wizard puts in a spell of Pottering about at his local library
HARRY Potter star Matthew Lewis is set to swap Hogwarts for his home town of Horsforth on Friday to mark the opening of its revamped library.
The Leeds actor, who plays Neville Longbottom, will weave his own brand of magic at the ticket-only event from 6pm at Horsforth Library on Town Street.
The 16-year-old will read some of his favourite excerpts from the Harry Potter books as well as taking part in a question-and-answer session about appearing in the big-screen versions.
Celebrations start on Friday morning when Coun John Procter, executive member for leisure, will open the building, which has a new IT suite with broadband internet access.
Friday marks the start of a month of events at the library, which include a Bookstart family fun afternoon next Tuesday, Lady Killers – a crime author event next Wednesday, a Valentine’s Tea Dance and Rag Time Band on February 14 and an IT learning week starting on February 27.
For free tickets to see Matthew Lewis and for details on future events contact the library on 0113 214 4801.
