First Trailer for Wasteland Released

The first trailer for Matthew’s new film, Wasteland has been released and may be watched below!

Battered, bruised and under arrest, Harvey Miller sits in a police interview room facing interrogation. Clutching a stack of eyewitness statements, Detective Inspector West has no doubt as to Harvey’s part in a foiled robbery, and his subsequent attempted murder of local businessman Steven Roper. Denying nothing, Harvey agrees to tell his version of events in full. As the story unfolds, we discover that a malevolent and unjust act perpetrated by Roper put Harvey in prison and now he has a score to settle.

Following an emotional reunion with his best friends, Harvey sets about finding the girl he left behind, determined to rekindle their romance. What follows is the ingenious and elaborate blueprint of a master plan which Harvey hopes will deliver revenge on his old adversary as well as giving him and his friends the opportunity to start a new life abroad. After weeks of meticulous planning, the boys set the plan in motion. What unfolds is a tense and exhilarating heist of unexpected proportions. A story of loyalty, jealousy, friendship, revenge and the pursuit of happiness.

Update: Matthew No Longer Able to Attend Walk of Smiles

We have just received word from the organizers of the Walk of Smiles, a charity walk to benefit Bethany Hare’s charity Bethany’s Smile.  They have informed us that unfortunately Matthew is now unable to attend the Walk of Smiles on September 8th in Leeds due to commitments for Our Boys. Matthew sends his apologies to everyone and fans are still encouraged to attend the event to help raise money.

Registration opens at 10am at the Old Ball Pub in Horsforth when bacon sandwiches and drinks will be available.

The Walk will set off at 11.30am (suitable for all ages, pushchairs etc) and FREE refreshments will be available for all walkers at the half way point – Kirkstall Abbey Park, sponsored by Harrogate Spring Water and Batley’s Cash and Carry (look out for the Bethany’s Smile gazebo!)

On return to the Old Ball pub there will be a huge ‘after party’ and everyone in the community is invited (even if you don’t do the walk!!).  There will be a BBQ, Amazing entertainment, Raffle, Tombola, Certificates for all the walkers, prizes for the best outfits (everyone is encouraged to dress in either outfits to make people ‘Smile’ or lots of colour), bouncy castle, face painting plus lots more.

80% of the net profit raised on the day will be donated to Martin House Children’s Hospice and 20% will stay with Bethany’s Smile – supporting the care of children with life limiting and life threatening illnesses outside the hospice environment.

Video: Behind the Scenes of the Our Boys Photoshoot

A new behind the scenes video from a photoshoot Matthew Lewis did for his upcoming play, Our Boys, has made it’s way online and may be watched below. In the video the cast also talk about the play and what fans can expect. Matt will be playing the role of Mick in the play which starts previews September 26 at the Duchess Theatre. A press opening will be held on October 3rd and the play runs until December 15th. Ticketing information may be found here.

OUR BOYS is both searingly honest and explosively funny. Five young soldiers are killing nothing but time as they recover from injuries incurred in the line of duty. Suddenly, their daily routine of TV, lonely hearts ads and banter is shattered by the arrival of a young officer.

The camaraderie of this unlikely band of brothers is soon jeopardised by a dangerous incident and an act of betrayal. With charges of misconduct looming, accusations fly – and the fighting really starts.
