We have just received word from the organizers of the Walk of Smiles, a charity walk to benefit Bethany Hare’s charity Bethany’s Smile. They have informed us that unfortunately Matthew is now unable to attend the Walk of Smiles on September 8th in Leeds due to commitments for Our Boys. Matthew sends his apologies to everyone and fans are still encouraged to attend the event to help raise money.
Registration opens at 10am at the Old Ball Pub in Horsforth when bacon sandwiches and drinks will be available.
The Walk will set off at 11.30am (suitable for all ages, pushchairs etc) and FREE refreshments will be available for all walkers at the half way point – Kirkstall Abbey Park, sponsored by Harrogate Spring Water and Batley’s Cash and Carry (look out for the Bethany’s Smile gazebo!)
On return to the Old Ball pub there will be a huge ‘after party’ and everyone in the community is invited (even if you don’t do the walk!!). There will be a BBQ, Amazing entertainment, Raffle, Tombola, Certificates for all the walkers, prizes for the best outfits (everyone is encouraged to dress in either outfits to make people ‘Smile’ or lots of colour), bouncy castle, face painting plus lots more.
80% of the net profit raised on the day will be donated to Martin House Children’s Hospice and 20% will stay with Bethany’s Smile – supporting the care of children with life limiting and life threatening illnesses outside the hospice environment.
