Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis visits York during National Railway Museum’s Wizard Weekend (Aug 16)
A YOUNG film star brought some Hogwarts magic to one of York’s tourist attractions this weekend.
Matthew Lewis, who plays student Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, spent yesterday morning at the National Railway Museum meeting fans and signing autographs.
His visit was part of the museum’s Wizard Weekend – a two-day event celebrating the arrival of the Harry Potter locomotive, Hogwarts Castle.
During the weekend, visitors also came face to face with snowy owls and martial eagles.
Sue Dalton, the museum’s cultural planning manager, said: “Visitors were delighted to see Matthew Lewis and Hogwarts Castle together at the museum.
“The famous loco is proving to be just as popular in our Great Hall as it has been in all the Harry Potter films, so we’re thrilled it’s here for the whole of the summer holidays.”
