Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 12:42 pm | Comments Off on Matt Lewis Talks Alien: Out of the Shadows & Me Before You |
In a new interview with Radio Times, Matthew Lewis discusses lending his voice to Alien: Out of the Shadows, kinship with his co-stars in Me Before You and his interest in Doctor Who.
Matthew stars alongside Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games) in Me Before You, out June 3rd and discusses the fact that all of them have worked on successful film/tv franchises:
“We’re all of an age and we’ve all sort of got ourselves caught up in these mad franchises and trying to find our way in the world of acting and whatnot”, he continued, “and I think it was just a coming together of a bunch of people who are in a very similar mindset and a very similar place in their lives and it was just really fun.”
He also discusses the possibility of a guest role in Doctor Who by saying: “I’ve not watched Doctor Who since it was David Tennant, but yeah, it looks like it’d be a bit of fun. Maybe a guest role would be a bit of fun, wouldn’t it? I mean why not?”
Finally he mentions his work on the audiobook, Alien: Out of the Shadows, which is available on Audible today. Matt plays Communications Officer John Baxter in “a thrilling tale of an outbreak on a mining vessel, set between the first and second films in Ridley’s Scott’s iconic franchise.”
“I’m such a huge fan of the first couple of movies. My character is so much fun and so I didn’t really care who was doing it. I just wanted to get involved,” he said.

The first official trailer for Me Before You has been released by Warner Bros. While we don’t see Matt in the trailer, it definitely shows the film is going to be true to the book. Often times you find love where you least expect it. Sometimes it takes you where you never expected to go…
Louisa “Lou” Clark (Clarke) lives in a quaint town in the English countryside. With no clear direction in her life, the quirky and creative 26-year-old goes from one job to the next in order to help her tight-knit family make ends meet.
Her normally cheery outlook is put to the test, however, when she faces her newest career challenge. Taking a job at the local “castle,” she becomes caregiver and companion to Will Traynor (Claflin), a wealthy young banker who became wheelchair bound in an accident two years prior, and whose whole world changed dramatically in the blink of an eye. No longer the adventurous soul he once was, the now cynical Will has all but given up. That is until Lou determines to show him that life is worth living. Embarking together on a series of adventures, both Lou and Will get more than they bargained for, and find their lives—and hearts—changing in ways neither one could have imagined.
