New Matthew Lewis Interview in Sky News

Sky News has posted a new interview with Matthew Lewis that you can read here in the press archive!

SM: Do you think the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 will both have their own distinctive plots, tones and identities?

ML: While Part 1 is mainly Ron, Hermione and Harry off on the run, there’s a tiny bit of a flash into what’s going on with the resistance back at Hogwarts. It’s very heavily focused on Harry, Ron and Hermione. Part 1 is them trying to find the Horcruxes, while Part 2 is really focused on them coming back and the Battle of Hogwarts.

It’s a bit like The Lord of the Rings, where Parts 1 and 2 are about how long the road is and how much of a toll it’s taking on everyone, while the final part is the real climax – the real action. There are a lot of deaths, a lot of blood.

Matthew Lewis on Blue Peter

The video of Matthew on Blue Peter is now on the BBC iPlayer and can be viewed here!  He was on Monday the 8ths episode and according to reader Emily he made a card! (I haven’t been able to watch yet).  You can only view the video if you are in the UK.

I’ll try to get it for the Video Archive when I get back from work! If anyone can grab it for me that would be great!

Matt Comes in at Number 10 for Harry Potter’s Sexiest Men

Matthew Lewis has come in at number 10 for MTV’s Harry Potter’s Sexiest Men list!  Also on the list are James and Oliver Phelps (9), Stanislav Ianevski (8), Rupert Grint (7), Freddie Stroma (6), Christian Coulson (5), Daniel Radcliffe (4), Sean Biggerstaff (3), Robert Pattinson (2), and Tom Felton (1). I would personally change the order a bit, but that’s a pretty good list, am I right girls (and guys)?

10. Matthew LewisYes, Neville Longbottom is supposed to be awkward and homely, but boy has Matthew Lewis grown out of that. He started off as being geeky and adorable in “Sorcerer’s Stone,” but has definitely toughened up over the years. Also, we should note that when Matt is out of his Neville make-up, he looks a whole lot cuter.

Matthew Talks to Movies.com

In a new set report from Movies.com, Matthew has discussed the Potter films and the audition process.

Matthew Lewis, who plays Neville Longbottom, undergoes a gritty makeover for his character’s evolution. “The first week, it was really enjoyable. I thought, ‘This is fun! This is great.’ About 12 months later, it’s pretty boring. The novelty has definitely worn off. When I get the full thing on – a headpiece as well – it took two hours for the first few weeks. We’ve knocked it down to about an hour and a quarter now.” Other changes in his prosthetic makeup included getting rid of the fat suit, which he had to wear in past films to portray a pudgier Neville. “Neville’s slimmed down. We’re trying to suggest he’s living underground at Hogwarts, and he’s been this resistance leader. So he’s not had time to eat, and he’s been stressing out.”

Like Radcliffe, Lewis has played his role since the beginning, and said he’ll miss the security of having Harry Potter. “Auditions are the worst thing in the world. I go to pieces. I just can’t do it. Everything I do from now [on] is going to be a little bit harder, but at the same time, it’s time to move on and do something else. I can’t wait for that either – some ambivalence on it, really. I’m happy, sad, a little bit of both.”

Matthew-Lewis.com will be at the London premiere of Deathly Hallows so stay tuned for fun stuff from it (photos/videos depending on what we can get).
