Matt in Jersey, Twitter Stuff

As some of you may already know from his Twitter, matthew is in Jersey (not New Jersey, just Jersey in the UK) for a few days.  There is now a press release online about his visit along with a new photo.  I have added the press release to our press archive as well.

As ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ continues to ride high at the top of the film charts, Matthew is taking time out of his busy schedule to visit the Drama Lab students at the end of the first week of their summer school – Acting for Television – which is running for three weeks. Matthew will be talking to the students about his life in Harry Potter and answering questions from the budding actors.  Today he will be doing a charity signing for Help A Jersey Child where people can make a donation to the charity in exchange for a signed photo of Matthew Lewis as his character Neville Longbottom.

Matthew commented: “It’s great to be able to take time out to make this trip and it was a real honour to be asked to be involved with Drama Lab and Help A Jersey Child.  Young actors need support, direction and guidance whilst trying to break into the acting world and Drama Lab is the perfect place to do this.  I would also like to say a big thank you to Jet2.com for kindly agreeing to support the trip with flights to Jersey and for looking after me so well whilst on-board.”

Here are a few tweets Matthew has made while on the trip:

  • How didn’t I notice this yesterday? The view from my hotel. iPhone definitely does not do it justice! http://yfrog.com/7gie8ij
  • Just finished on 103.7FM and BBC Radio Jersey. Got a little TV in half an hour and then I’m done with press for today! Having breakfast now.
  • Had a rather funny interview with a 45 year old Puffin. Those of you who live on the Channel Islands will know what I’m talking about!
  • Same beach. Tides out. Incredible difference. http://yfrog.com/72tpsfj

He has also confirmed that BONNIE WRIGHT DOES NOT HAVE A TWITTER! And the only ones he knows for sure are Tom, James and Oliver!

  • The only Twitters that I know are real are James and Ollie Phelps and Tom Felton. Others may be but I don’t know! Bonnie’s definitely aren’t
  • I spoke to Bonnie yesterday. She doesn’t have a Twitter. I’ll be sure to let you know if she becomes a convert!
  • I’m sure other people at the studio have them but I can only tell you about the ones that I know for a fact are real.

New Short Interview, Polish Premiere

Hey folks!  Thanks to LadyLongbottom we have a new interview with Matt! I’ll add it to the press archive when I get out of work, just doing a quick post.

The 20-year-old star said: “(The) RAF was if acting didn’t work out, was definitely a course I was looking at in life.” He added: “They (the RAF) invited me to come along as a guest one year to the Air Tattoo and they have invited me every year since.”

Matthew said he was “looking forward” to filming the seventh and final book in the series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, which is being split into two parts for the big screen. “I’ve just gone back to read Deathly Hallows again, I mean I read it last year, but I have just read it again and I forgot the stuff that Neville really has to do. It’s really bizarre reading it and having your future mapped out in these stories ahead of time,” he said.

I’m at my internship now so I cannot upload photos of Matt at the Polish premiere and photocall until I am done, so probably an hour and a half or so! Sorry! *quickly leaves before boss comes back ;)*

New Interview

The Irish Film and Television Network has a new article online about when Matt and Evanna went to the Irish premiere of Half-Blood Prince! I have added it to the press archive as well.  The article states that Matt will be filming Deathly Hallows starting in October.

Matthew Lewis has appeared in all of the Harry Potter films as the nervous and somewhat ‘academically-challenged’ Neville Longbottom. He was only 12 years old when filming of the first film ‘Harry potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ commenced and, when asked if he finds it hard to watch himself at that age, the 20 year old actor gives this reply: “I don’t do that, not at all. I can’t – it’s a very bizarre! It’s not something I like looking back on, that shy little boy, it’s weird – you know people saying he is endearing and sweet – I don’t like that at all! I had this terrible high pitched voice and I can hear it at Christmas when my parents are playing it downstairs, every Christmas without fail.”

New Video Interview

RTE.ie has a new video interview with Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch.  To watch it go here and click where it says “Watch the interview here”.

Sadly, I don’t have RealPlayer on my Mac so I don’t know what happens in it, haha.
