More Press Interviews

A ton more press interviews with Matthew have made their way online! In addition to the first Rolling Stone interview I posted there is now a second one where Matt talks about Neville and music.

NowToronto has also posted a new interview that you can read here or in the press archive (this is very similar to the dose.ca article, I assume they are from the same press conference).

The British press has responded by tagging you as the movie’s breakout star. How does that feel?
I’m overwhelmed by it all, to be honest. I mean, looks aside for a moment, I’m just so pleased to have the positive responses from reviewers and fans. This is the one I really wanted to get right for Neville. The moments that Neville has in this film were kind of crucial, and I knew as a fan how important they were and I wanted to make sure we really nailed them. So to hear the critical responses, it’s lovely and very overwhelming.… I’m very awkward with it. It’s not something that I’m used to.

Ugo has posted their own take on the press conference with a few more questions transcribed, you can read that here or in the press archive.

Would you do a musical?
No! I can’t sing! I love to sing, but I can’t sing. And I definitely can’t dance either. I followed him [Dan] as far as the play. I could do that, but a musical would be too much.

io9 Interviews Matthew Lewis

io9 has posted another new interview with Matthew Lewis where he talks about Neville and more! Read the full interview at the previous link or in the press archive.

In part 2, Neville and Luna sort of have a flirtation going on, but it’s not with whom J.K. Rowling has announced Neville ends up with, so what did you think of that?

I liked it. Obviously I thought it was terribly coincidental that Harry and co managed to end up with people that met in high school, that doesn’t happen often. So I thought maybe [Neville] and Luna could have a summer fling, perhaps, and then he could go on to marry Hannah Abbott. It suited them. They were both outcasts when they were younger, but they had so much to offer that people couldn’t see at face value, and they both came good in the end and really stood up to the plate and they are both really endearing, inspiring characters, both of them. Both come from very humble beginnings, people think they will never amount to anything, and yet they both do, and I think that’s nice. They are suited for each other. But Luna is probably a lot scarier than Voldemort. Girls in general are scarier than Voldemort. It might have been the next challenge for Neville.
