New Photo, Article from Ilkley Lights Event

A new photo from Matthew’s appearance switching on the Ilkley Christmas Lights is now online by way of a news article. View the photo in the gallery! The article also includes a transcription of part of his speech, which can be watched in full in this post.

He paid tribute to Sir Jimmy who he described as ‘an absolute legend,’ encouraging the crowd to give ‘three cheers for Jimmy’ before switching on the lights. He said: “I must admit I was hesitant to take on the responsibility of switching on the lights, because of the very large boots he has left to fill. I met him a few times and was amazed by the vitality he had. His enthusiasm for philanthropy was so inspirational, he did so much for so many people and I just know he would have loved to have been here tonight to turn on the Christmas lights in Ilkley. But I am also sure he wouldn’t have wanted it to have turned into a sombre affair so before I turn on the lights, I thought we could do three cheers for Jimmy.”

EXCLUSIVE Video and Photo: Matthew Switching on Ilkley Lights

Today I can post a brand new, high resolution, photo of Matthew while he was switching on the Ilkley Lights, view that in the gallery.  We also have an amazing video from the event which shows Santa introducing Matthew, then Matthew making a speech and finally turning on the lights! There is also a short interview at the end, where Matt talks about The Syndicate and an unnamed film, which we can assume is Wasteland.

Thanks very much to Mark, who was invited by the organizers to film and photograph the event, for sharing his footage with us!

EXCLUSIVE: Matthew Lewis Attending Children in Need Event in Pudsey

Today we have an exciting piece of news regarding an event Matthew Lewis will be attending tomorrow. He will be taking part in the Children in Need Annual Appeal in Pudsey. As a prominent figure from the region, Matt has been asked to participate in the various events throughout the day, such as meeting children, to help raise money for the charity.

Children in Need is an annual British charity appeal organised by the BBC. Since 1980 it has raised over £500 million. The highlight of the Children in Need appeal is an annual telethon, held in November. A teddy bear named “Pudsey Bear” fronts the campaign, while Terry Wogan is a long standing host. Children in Need is one of three high-profile British telethons, the others being Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, both supporting the Comic Relief charity. [source]

Some of the event will be televised live on BBC1, so if anyone can capture footage with Matt please send it in so I can post it!
