The Sweet Shop & Matthew Lewis Nominated for LFF Awards

The nominees for the London Film Festival awards have been announced and Matthew Lewis’ film, The Sweet Shop, is up for 6 awards, including Matthew Lewis for Best Supporting Actor.  The film is also up for:

  • Best Director – Ben Myers
  • Best Film of the Festival
  • Best Lead Actress – Gemma Atkinson
  • Best Supporting Actress – Susan Hoecke
  • Best Editing of a Feature Film – Phil White

The festival will be held from October 12th through the 18th in Ealing, London.  The screening schedule hasn’t been released yet, but we will post as soon as it’s available.

Matthew Visits Daniel Radcliffe At His London Play

Matthew Lewis went to see Daniel Radcliffe’s play The Cripple of Inishmaan in London this past Saturday and visited with him in his dressing room.  Dan’s Google + page has posted a photo of the two together. Matt also posted his own photo outside the show, tou can see both in the gallery.  Matt had the following to say about the performance:

Matthew Lewis To Open Calverley Gala

This coming Saturday, Matthew will be opening Calverley Parkside School’s summer fair. The event is at the Village Of Calverley, Nr. Pudsey, Leeds and goes from 1pm to 4pm.  No need to worry about entrance fees because it is free!

There will be an auction with loads of prizes up for grabs; they have been slowly announcing prizes on their Facebook page.  The Facebook also says that there will be herbology (plant stall), potions (refreshments & Pimms tent), Goblet of Fire (BBQ) and lots more fun and entertainment for all the family. Activities include stalls, games and refreshments, as well as bouncy castles, crafts, face painting and ‘beat the goalie’.

Matt said: “I’m delighted to be attending Calverley Parkside School’s Summer Fair. It promises to be a great event and I am looking forward to meeting lots of young fans of the Harry Potter films.”

Photo: Matthew Lewis Attends Audi Polo Challenge

It seems Matthew has been following Prince William all over lately! Last weekend he attended the Audi Royal Polo Challenge.  According to the Polo Times: The Duke of Cambridge was joined by Tabba Woodd, Nina Clarkin and Malcolm Borwick on the Audi Quattro team, which defeated Audi Ultra – Adriano Agosti, George Meyrick, Andrew Hine and Richard Thomas – 7-6.

This year the event is supporting England and Wales Mountain Rescue, English School Swimming Association and Fields in Trust.
