New Layout, New Server, No More Ads

Hey folks!! If you’re seeing this awesome new layout that means the site has successfully moved over to the new server! I’ve been meaning to move it over for months but just haven’t had the time (stupid real life). For the next couple of days the site may go down randomly, but after a few days it will work as usual, the DNS just has to resolve (aka…the website needs to figure out that it is at a new server and stop trying to use the old one). ANYWAY, now that we’ve moved there are 2 changes besides the new layout.

1: NO MORE ANNOYING ADS!! Since I host the site myself now & not through my old host fan-sites.org (which I still love, and you should use if  you need a free host for a fan site) I don’t need to have them.

2. The problem with leaving fan-sites is that my new host doesn’t have the features I need to keep our Video Archive. I’m going to try to find an alternative, but for now the video archive is no more.

So what do you all think of the new layout? And do you know what I JUST noticed when I added this new layout to the About this Site page?…it has been EXACTLY one year since the last layout went up, how weird is that?! I guess it really was time for a change, ha ha.

New Audio Interview with Beacon Radio

Tom Stokes of Beacon Radio has emailed today to let me know of a new audio interview he did with Matthew Lewis for the station.  You can listen to the 4 minute interview in the player below.  In the interview he talks about Harry Potter and his new play Verdict. The website also has a larger version of a photo we saw earlier of Matthew from Verdict, you can see that in the gallery.

SnitchSeeker Reviews ‘Verdict’

Emma of SnitchSeeker recently had the chance to interview Matthew and see him in his new play Verdict. So far only her review is up, here is what she had to say about Matt:

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) plays Lester Cole, a student of modest means who has a thirst for education. Matthew is very sympathetic in the role, if a little too earnest in his delivery of lines. Being that this is his first role on stage, it is understandable that he might struggle with projection from time to time, getting a little shout-y at points, but he seemed to relax and perform more naturally in the second half, something which suggests to me that through touring with the production, Matthew can only go from strength to strength.

New Matthew Interview with BBC Radio Devon

Today Matthew Lewis talked to BBC Radio Devon about filming the Harry Potter movies.  You can listen to the interview below and read a transcript in the press archive.

BBC: It’s the final film we’ll see this year. How do you feel about that, because ultimately this is the end of an era for you, isn’t it?
Matthew:
It was a strange feeling on the last day. It was very, very surreal, actually. I don’t really remember much of it. But it was a big scene that we shot. There were loads of cast members in it, lots of extras and hundreds of people on the set. And then when it finished it was just a couple of us that looked around and all Hogwarts was destroyed and reduced to rubble. It was really odd. So empty. But I wasn’t that sad. I knew that I’d be seeing everyone again for premieres . I wasn’t sad because I was just so proud of what we’d done. I never thought when I was 11 years old that I’d be talking to BBC Radio Devon about the eight film that we’ve made. I’m 21 years old. It’s just been a pleasure and I’ve just felt so proud of everyone. We got through them all. We made them all and did the best that we could.

Thanks to SS for capturing the interview.

Matthew Lewis Talks Harry Potter and Verdict

In a new interview with Wales Online Matthew talks about the filming and saying good bye to Harry Potter as well as Verdict.  You can read some snippets below and the full interview over in the press archive.

“Yes, it’s the first time I’ve ever acted on stage,” he chuckles “Theatre is something that has passed me by. Now I want to go with it and see where it takes me. When you’ve played the same character for 10 years you don’t want to become typecast, you want to be seen in a different way. That’s why it’s a pleasure and privilege to work with experienced stage actors. It’s a great foundation for me to appear in such a great production. We opened in Windsor and I have to confess it was a bit terrifying,” he jokes. “We didn’t have much rehearsal time, only about three weeks in all. The first night it was nerve-wracking, but once I got that first performance and then the first week out of the way it it’s been easier.

He also confides that there were no tears and no sadness on the last day of filming, although it was an incredibly emotional moment. “I didn’t feel sad, I felt incredibly proud,” says Matthew, who has become firm friends with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. “I felt a special bond with all the cast and all the crew that have worked on the films for 10 years. It’s been an incredible achievement to complete the series and have the privilege to see at first hand what the films have meant to so many people.
