Neville Longbottom Featured in Total Film’s 50 Greatest Harry Potter Scenes

Total Film Magazine has posted their list of the 50 Greatest Harry Potter Scenes and one of the top 10 moments is Neville’s finest hour! Some other Neville related moments are also on the list and they may all be read below:

7. Neville and Nagini

The Scene: Neville Longbottom destroys Lord Voldemort’s last remaining Horcrux, swinging the sword of Gryffindor to behead the hideous serpent, Nagini.
The Awesome: Neville has been growing into his role as unlikely badass as the saga has progressed, and this is the point at which he graduates to full-on hero status. Well done that man!

15. The boggart

The Scene: Harry’s defence against the dark arts class is treated to an encounter with a boggart, a strange creature that takes the form of its victim’s worst fear. Understandably, Neville’s is the fearsome Professor Snape…
The Awesome: The Riddikulus charm treats us to a glimpse of Snape dressed up as Neville’s elderly grandmother. What a fetching hat!

36. The Department of Mysteries

The Scene: Harry and his friends become embroiled in a battle with the Death Eaters in the Department of Mysteries. Just as things are looking grim, the Order of the Phoenix arrive to turn the tide, but at a cost… the life of Sirius Black.
The Awesome: The critical blow is dealt by Bellatrix Lestrange, whose gleeful reaction only serves to make the moment more shocking.

43. The Yule Ball

The Scene: Hermione arrives for the Yule Ball in a stunning pink dress, leaving Harry and Ron gobsmacked by her glamorous makeover. To make things worse for Ron, international Quidditch star Viktor Krum is on hand to share the first dance…
The Awesome: Amid all the wand-waving and spell-casting, it can be easy to forget that our heroes are still teenagers, with all the hormonal angst that goes with it. This scene taps into that side of things nicely!

Matthwe Lewis Confirms Wasteland Filming

A few days ago Matthew Lewis revealed, quite sneakily via Twitter, that he would be filming Wasteland soon. Today MTV revealed that filming on Wasteland would begin at the end of February! It has been news for many months that Matthew was attached to the film but nothing was confirmed so this is great news for Matthew fans!

Wasteland, by writer-director Rowan Athale, will also star Matthew’s Potter co-stars Timothy Spall (Pettigrew) and Natalia Tena (Tonks). Other than that not much is known about the film, but we will post the information as soon as anything becomes available.

Make sure to read our past news about Wasteland.

Matthew Lewis Wraps ‘The Syndicate’

News is a bit slow lately, so I felt this warranted a news post.  Today Matthew Lewis and the other cast and crew of The Syndicate wrapped filming of the show today!  Matt announced this via a tweeting:

  • Always good to finish a project. Particularly one as fulfilling as The Syndicate. Thanks to @jopage_ @MatthewMcnultys, our kid and the rest.

The Syndicate is a five part BBC Miniseries about five workers at a cut-price supermarket in Leeds whose lives are turned upside down after they jointly win the lottery, going from facing redundancy and battling the present economic downturn to having more money than they ever dreamt of.  Matthew plays Jamie, brother of Stuart (played by Matthew McNulty.)  Potter star Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew) is also in the show and plays the supermarket’s manager, Bob.

As we posted last November the show will be airing in March on BBC1. An exact date is not known but rest assured that it will be posted here as soon as that information becomes available.

Also, to answer a frequently asked question: The Sweet Shop has NOT been released yet, so you cannot watch it or buy the DVD.  The studio is currently negotiating with distributors so hopefully it will be released soon. Keep watching the site for any developments!
