Matthew Lewis Co-Hosting New Podcast – “Doing a Leeds” with Jermaine Beckford

Matthew Lewis and Jermaine Beckford have started a new Leeds United fan podcast called Doing a Leeds. They will release a new episode each week discussing the Leeds United football team. Matthew and Jermaine will pick a charity to give a shout out to in each episode of the podcast, beginning with The Big Issue for the first episode.
Doing A Leeds will see Matthew and Jermaine discuss everything from the latest games to the big stories coming from Elland Road, regular updates on Matthew’s attempts to set up a supporter’s club in The Sunshine State to a look back at the last two decades at the club. There will also be huge guests, from current and former players to famous faces from the world of film, TV, music and entertainment.
Matthew and Jermaine commented in a press release shared on PodNews.
Matthew Lewis said: “We’re back in the Premier League, with the god himself, El Loco, at the helm. Unfortunately, during a global pandemic, I’m stuck in the US trying to get somebody, anybody, to talk to me about Leeds United. With baseball, basketball and American football all back on everyone is pretty exhausted with humouring me so I thought I’d see if anybody back home wanted to talk to me about it. Inexplicably Jermaine said he would and then my mate said people would probably like to listen to that. So we’re recording it. And Leeds legend Jermaine Beckford is going to be my inside man as I play the role of possibly the only person in sunny Florida that wishes they were in cold, grey Leeds!”
Jermaine Beckford said: “I’m really looking forward to being part of this podcast with Matthew – while he’s stuck in the US I’ll be his link to Leeds’s return to the Premier League. Don’t worry Matt, you top up your tan while I do all the heavy lifting keeping a close eye on Marcelo and the boys. I can’t wait for the season to start.”
The first episode has been released today:
A brand new podcast hosted by Matthew Lewis and Jermaine Beckford. In this first episode, Matthew gets to know Jermaine: discussing his time at Leeds, going from non-league football playing in front of 70 fans to Elland Road and 34,000 fans within a week, and the realities of playing for the club.
And Jermaine offers us an insight into Marcelo Bielsa’s training methods, the forthcoming season and leading the side to promotion into the Championship. All Creatures Great and Small Premiering on September 1st in UK
We finally have a UK release date for All Creatures Great and Small! Channel 5 tweeted a new clip this morning as well as letting fans know that the show will premiere on Tuesday September 1st at 9pm.
There is still no release date for the show on PBS Masterpiece in the USA.
All Creatures Great and Small Premiere Delayed to January 2021 in USA
Previously we shared Matthew’s involvement in the remake of All Creatures Great and Small. In that post we said the show would be airing on PBS (US) and Channel 5 (UK) some time in September 2020. It has now been updated to January 2021, no exact date revealed as of yet.
A new teaser has been posted on Channel 5’s Twitter account, no scenes with Matthew as it focuses on the lead of the show.
It has also been revealed that a second series is in the works. However, since we don’t know much about Matthew’s role in the show we aren’t sure if he would be involved in the second series.
“We are in discussions with Channel 5 in England and Masterpiece,” said Callender. “We are developing season two right now. So there’s every intention and hope that this will be a returning series and hopefully everyone will fall in love with the characters and want to run and run. Certainly that was our ambition from the outset.”
