Hey everyone, do you think you are one of Matt’s biggest fans?  If you do I have a job/contest for you!  Noahus Magazine – a Danish online publication – is looking for Matt’s biggest fans to participate in a small e-mail interview about Matt and Harry Potter, and have asked for our help in finding you.

I am going to follow TFO’s lead and have you guys write a small paragraph.  What you need to do is explain in 250 words or less why you’re Matt’s biggest fan. As most of you have probably heard, on the 12th a huge tragedy hit Haiti; they were hit by a 7.0 earthquake. Matthew has tweeted about donating to the relief efforts by saying: “You lot are a good bunch so I’m asking a favour. Please give generously to the Haiti earthquake appeal. http://dec.org.uk”

The Harry Potter Alliance is asking for everyone’s help to reach out to Haiti and help with the relief efforts.

Please consider donating $10 to Haiti by texting “HAITI” to 90999. Or if you have access to a credit card, we highly recommend you donate to Partners In Health as they have been in Haiti for over 20 years and have written the book on health and human rights. Partners in Health both tackle the symptoms as well as the root causes.

Also, thanks to Mugglenet for letting us know that Alivan’s is donating 100% of the profits from all Redwood wand sales to the Red Cross to go directly to Haiti.  Just purchase one of their Redwood wands (in one of the two Redwood designs) between now and Jan. 31st.

At the end of this campaign Alivan’s will let us know how much was raised through wand purchases.

What is everyone being for Halloween?  My little brother is being Charlie Brown in his ghost costume, hehe.  I’m being nothing because I am boring…

This isn’t a Matt post, but since Matt news is slow and it’s for a good cause I decided to post   Matt’s friend Chris Cuzzy and a few of his friends will be doing an event for charity and they need sponsors!  Donate as much or as little as you can, the proceeds are going to Sue Ryder Care.

On the 9th and 10th of October 2009, 4 lads (Chris Cousins, Steven Hey, David Maw and David Klepacz) will be taking on the challenge of climbing the 3 highest peak’s in the UK in 24 hours or less. We will start the challenge on the 9th October and over 24 hours we will have walked all the mountains as well as drive to them.

Here is what we are going to be doing:
5pm Start Ben Nevis.
10pm Finish Ben Nevis and start drive to Scafell Pike (seven hour drive).
5am Arrive and start climbing Scafell Pike
10am Finish Scafell Pike and start drive to Snowdon (three hour drive).
1pm Arrive and start climbing Snowdon
5pm Finish Snowdon, and complete challenge.

We are raising money for Sue Ryder Care, which is a range of hospices that offer care to people with long term diseases and terminal illnesses, such as Cancer, Stroke, MS, Brain Injury, Dementia, Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Motor Neurones Disease.

We have all been affected by someone with one of these at least and Sue Ryder Care has helped several people we know. So it is a worthy cause.

So please donate as much or as little as you can. As they say, every penny counts.
