Does series two have a different feel??
“We’re definitely pushing it closer to the edge in terms of both the drama and the comedy. Things get ruder and also a lot more dangerous, so it’s pretty exciting.”How is the class war between Nick and Tower Block [Matthew Lewis] developing?
“?I’d say it’s added a new dynamic. One bit of feedback we got from series one was that my character’s quite posh and no one seems to pick him up on it. Who better to do it than a whippet-licking, tripe-smoking Yorkshireman with a massive chip on his shoulder? Matt Lewis has fitted into the group brilliantly.”

Our Boys has made Harpers Bazaar’s Hotlist for the week of November 2nd to 8th!
…laugh and cry with Our Boys
Play-lovers are in for a treat at the Duchess Theatre, where a production of Jonathan Lewis’ story about squaddies in a military hospital in Woolwich – Our Boys – is wowing audiences. Starring the dashing Laurence Fox and Matthew Lewis, among others, in this brilliantly cast and superbly acted show, the play offers a funny yet candid account of the tedium, terror and tribulations suffered by five young soldiers recovering from injuries incurred in the line of duty, and is based on Lewis’ own experiences in the army. In some respects a conventional ‘soldier’ play with banter, bullying and even the token nice guy officer, but as the tension builds in the second act and the details of personal experience strike out, the authenticity becomes its best asset. Several riveting flashpoints include the ‘beer hunter; Russian roulette parody with fizzing cans, or the impromptu inspection that follows, but make sure you prepare yourself with tissues for the final startling speech.

The Independent has a new interview with Matthew Lewis, as well as a photo of him with Rupert Grint. The photo is from when Rupert visited Matt on the set of Our Boys a few weeks ago. In the interview (which has been added to the press archive), Matt talks about when he and Rupert were younger on the Harry Potter set:
Rupert was great at making everyone laugh on set. There was one scene in which he had to come on and say, “Back off, unless you want a fistful of Weasley,” which was a direct quote from the book. But Rupert couldn’t say it, and he broke out in an infectious laugh; every time he tried to do the scene we all got the giggles, too – until the director was like, “This just isn’t working, let’s scrap the line and move on.” We’d wasted an entire day filming because of Rupert’s laugh.
[…]Rupert has been paid handsomely for his job and works hard, so when he’s not working he buys all this stuff people say they’d buy if they ever won the Lottery. He’s got an ice-cream van, a hovercraft… all this incredible stuff. I was round his house recently and I was like, “Rupert you got an ice-rink in your house!” Once I went to pick him up, he had a lake with a swan pedalo; I wanna have a go on that.
Rupert had the following interesting tidbit to say about Matt (snippet):
I noticed, too, the change in public awareness – overnight he became a sex symbol and it was nice for Matt to have his moment. He gave me a bit of stick with the kissing scenes with Emma, though, as back in the day he had a little thing with her.
Moving on and doing different things was a big deal for us, as we’d spent our whole childhoods with the same people. It was hard to walk away and not get choked up, but I always knew Matt and I would stay in touch. It’s great that I’ll always have him to talk to about it all.
I’ll never forget one moment in the work canteen when we started throwing peas at each other. They ended up flying towards a certain Slytherin’s table – we always sat separately – and it escalated. I got threatened by one of the gentlemen, and there was a big chase with me, Matt and the Slytherins all round the studio. I was really quite scared as they were big guys, but he had my back.
Does Matt think I buy odd stuff? Probably, but as I’ve worked from such an early age, money has always been a bit weird for me and I don’t know what to do with it, so I have fun with it.

Google Autocomplete: GirlfriendNo one’s ever survived puberty as well as Matthew Lewis. The once awkward looking actor, known for playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter franchise, blossomed into a beautiful young man this year. That transformation alone qualifies him to be on this list. However he’s determined to do more than just drop jaws with his chiseled English looks. He’s also starring in two movies this year: a short called Night of the Loving Dead and Wasteland
